Pictures from the Iowa Stadelmanns

We celebrated Aaron's 1st Birthday on July 2nd.

He got into the cake!

Getting ready for the festivities.

The pontoon in all its glory.

Autumn and Emma tubing.

Looks like Emma's doing all the work, Bill.

Staying warm.

A windy day on Wisconsin Point.

We watched this iron ore ship - the largest on the Lakes - go under the aerial lift bridge in Duluth.

We had some time to do a geocache. It was a fun hike and not hard to find - but don't ask Isaac about the wasp nest he stepped on during the hike back. Yikes!

Aaron likes the boat, as long as no life jackets are involved.

We got a good look at this eagle several times during the week.

And of course, Scott had a little time to do some skiing.

Water Fun
You don't expect to see this in the north woods
A parakeet visited us on Connie's deck Sunday night. He was tame and wanted to be around people.
At least we thought he liked us before Adam and Dan grabbed nets and tried to catch him.
An offering of bread crumbs and water (with salad oil left over from Bill's dinner). He wasn't interested. Can you blame him?
He evaded the net, but stuck close by.
We finally gave up and hoped he would be okay through the night.
Flora and Fauna at the Lake

The monarch caterpillars were busy munching away in preparation for their transformation.

This doe was just as interested in us as we were in her.
Irises along the marshy shoreline between Big and Little Bass Lakes.
View from the dock at Lake Nancy - the weather was beautiful.
Blurry picture, but the best I could get - an orchid growing on marshy shoreline in channel between Big and Little Bass Lakes.
