Our annual visit to the St. Croix River. It was just a little deeper this year.

I thought this was a really interesting grass growing at river's edge, but further research revealed it is actually a fern. Horsetail fern to be exact.
The butterfly weed in full bloom.
This porcupine thought he would blend in with the branches when he ran up this pine tree. Needless to say, he wasn't very friendly.
